RenewIT at EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2016
June 16, 2016
RenewIT was part of a panel presentation of a number of its sister projects that form the Smart City Cluster at the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2016 in Brussels on 15 June.
The session at EUSEW – THE INTERNET ENERGY CHAIN: FROM SMART URBAN DATACENTERS TO SUSTAINABLE USER BEHAVIOURS – was moderated by Maikel Bouricius (pictured) from Green IT Amsterdam Region and featured presentations from:
-
GEYSER - Jaak Vlasveld
-
DOLFIN - Artemis Voulkidis
-
GENiC - Dirk Pesch
-
RenewIT - Andrew Donoghue
-
DC4Cities - Maria Perez Ortega
-
EURECA - Rabih Bashroush
The presenters concentrated on highlighting the main outputs of the projects and discussed how the projects complement each other in terms of focus. For example while many of the projects are focused and developing tools to help optimise the energy efficiency and renewable energy use of existing facilities, RenewIT’s outputs are about designing and locating datacenters to maximise energy efficiency and access to renewables.
