Multi-tenant datacenter (MTDC) operator Switch, which owns the SUPERNAP campus in Las Vegas, US, is developing more than 180MW of solar generation capacity with local utility NV Energy. Switch joins an increasing number of cloud and colocation datacenter operators that have made significant investments in grid and on-site renewable energy generation. In Q4 2015, Equinix invested in more than 225MW of renewable energy generation via power purchase agreements (PPAs) with wind-generation facilities in Oklahoma and Texas.
