Advisory Board online meeting

October 23, 2014

Fourteen members of the RenewIT Advisory Board, across the spectrum of scientific research and industrial experts, took part in the initial conference call on 23rd October 2014.

Andrew Donoghue

The Webinar was hosted by Andrew Donoghue of 451 Research

This was mainly an opportunity to welcome the members of the newly-formed Advisory Board and to present the main ideas in the project.

The participants in the call received presentations about the overall technical ideas, the advanced concepts which we are developing, the case studies, and the metrics which are being developed in collaboration with the other projects in the Smart Cities Data Centre research cluster.

Already we have received useful feedback from the presentations. The Advisory Board is designed to be a two-way process: on the one hand, we disseminate and encourage use of the project outputs, while keeping the industry informed of our results; on the other hand, these experts, combining many years’ of knowledge in different aspects of interest to the project, will bring valuable experience to bear on the direction of the project.

Although most of the “meetings” of the Advisory Board will be held using online conference calls every few months, we plan to hold at least one face-to-face meeting, probably to coincide with a project meeting in London next year.

The presentations are a good introduction to the project.
