RenewIT presented to Greenpeace, Google and others at Green Grid US

October 8, 2014

GreenGridRenewITThe RenewIT project was presented at the annual Green Grid Forum in California this week.

The project was introduced by Green Grid member, and standardisation expert, Andre Rouyer who provided an overview of the Commission’s investment in renewable energy projects, and the five other projects funded alongside RenewIT to develop technologies to increase the use of renewable energy by datacenters, and integration with smart cities.

The project was presented by Andrew Donoghue, European Research Manager, 451 Research, part of the RenewIT consortium. The session provided an overview of some of the main blockers and drivers for renewable energy uptake by datacenters before providing a more in-depth view of the project.

There was good feedback from the audience including representatives from Intel, Greenpeace, and Google.
