451 Research, one of the partners in the RenewIT consortium, has written a report outlining developments in the project to date including the support provided to the project by a number of leading datacenter operators.

The project recently announced agreements with eight datacenters spread across European climate zones to help develop case studies for the development and validation of the project results. RenewIT is taking an innovative approach to energy efficiency, including integration with ‘smart cities,’ reuse of waste heat in district heating and cooling systems, and use of local renewable energy or cooling sources.
